April 2022 - A Few Of My Favourite Things

Can you even read that title without singing the song from The Sound Of Music? If you can, maybe we shouldn't be friends. Or maybe you're just too young to have any idea what I'm talking about. Anywho moving on..

I've done it! I've officially put together one whole years worth of monthly subscription boxes and what a year it's been. I've loved researching sourcing and testing all of these amazing Australian Owned products for you so for this 12th box, I decided to introduce you to some great products I found along the way that I absolutely love but for one reason or another just didn't quite make it into one of our previous boxes.

Lets start with,

Koala Eco Hand Wash

It's no great secret that I'm a little bit obsessed with most of Koala Eco's products including this hand wash. I love that it is scented with essential oils and I hope you do too.

Ever Eco Organic Cotton Produce Bags

I did include a similar product in a previous box but I personally love these ones. Not only are they made of organic cotton, they are a great size and the open weave allows you (and the checkout operator) to easily see what's inside without having to open them. They'd also make a great delicates bag for your laundry, except where underwires are concerned.

Go For Zero Australian Pink Clay Soap

I first tried this soap when Go For Zero were kind enough to include it as a thank you gift with an order and I've been obsessed ever since. I can't quite pinpoint the one thing that I love about it the most. It smells great  of course and leaves my skin feeling lovely. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think.

Be Eco Soap Saver Bag

Collect those slivers of left over soap in this little gem before they slide down the drain. They won't go to waste and on top of that, using your soap in this bag is a great way to exfoliate while you wash. Win win!

That Red House Dishwashing Soap Pink Grapefruit

Now this one is a little controversial in our household. I love it but my partner hates it and is begging to return to dishwashing liquid. When you're used to liquid it does seem quite different but is still very effective and is definitely the most zero waste way to wash up. I think it's mind over matter personally and a lack of understanding from someone who thinks things don't get clean without a copious amount of bubbles? Who knows, either way it's the way your grandmother used to do the dishes and there's nothing wrong with returning some of our ways to a simpler time.

Essentials Box Omit The Following Two Items

That Red House Stainless Steel Soap Cage

A worthwhile addition to your waste free dishwashing arsenal, the soap cage just makes it a little bit easier to disburse your dishwashing soap. Just pop your soap in the cage and hold it under the running water. No grating or handling of slippery soap required.

Perfect Potion Aromatherapy Hand Sanitiser

Who doesn't have a hand sanitiser or three floating around their handbag/car/house these days right? This one is one of my personal faves. This no-rinse hand sanitiser contains powerful pure essential oils of tea tree, lemon and lavender in a natural plant ethanol base.

Please note: this sanitiser does contain 80% alcohol to meet CDC guidelines make sure you patch test if you have dry or sensitive skin.

And that's that folks. I can't wait to see what the next year full of Simple Swaps will bring. Stay tuned.

Kylie x
