February 2022 - Personal Care

How is it February already?

I realised today that as yet I haven't written a single word in my 2022 business diary. Even though I have a million and one ideas jotted down in my head, not one of them so far has made it to paper. So I've decided I'm going to run with the whole Lunar New Year thing and scrap January all together. So let's get down to 2022 business. Ready.....GO!

February's box is a beaut and is packed with goodies to help you on your way to a more sustainable personal care routine. As usual, lets start with the Essentials Box

Palm Body Brush Eco MaxThis Eco Max Palm Brush fits perfectly into the palm of your hand and can be used as a dry or wet body brush.

If you've never tried dry brushing, you should definitely give it a go. It's a great exfoliant, increases circulation and stimulates your lymphatic system. Not to mention it can be a great stress relief.

As with all Eco Max brushes it is ethically made from 100% natural fibres and is biodegradable at the end of its life.

Eco Max Nail BrushWhile we're talking brushes, this month you'll also receive an Eco Max Nail Brush. Let me tell you, this thing is a godsend after a day in the garden.

Made from tampico fibre which is naturally porous, it holds 65% more water than plastic making it ideal for wet scrubbing and its long lasting because the bristles won't bend and flatten like nylon bristles do.

The wooden component is made from sustainable rubberwood and of course the whole thing will break down naturally at the end of its life.

Go for zero cotton budsGo For Zero Cotton Buds

Cotton Buds might not seem very exciting to some but I personally couldn't live without them. I know you're not supposed to stick them in your ears but no amount of warning has stopped me yet. So assuming there are lots of you out there like me, I had to include these gems in our personal care box.

100% Biodegradable, toxin free and Aussie owned. You might have noticed that supermarkets have stepped up their game a bit and are no longer selling the cotton buds with the plastic stems but they still come in plastic packaging! These are a much better choice for the environment and for supporting Australian small business.

No Pong deoderantThe Original, No Pong is a ridiculously effective, super-natural, sodium bicarb based deodorant.

It's citrus scent with a hint of vanilla will keep you smelling great all day and is completely aluminium, triclosan, and paraben free.

The 35g tin should equal around a month of armpit odour free living.

To apply just rub a pea sized amount into each armpit and get on with your day.

For some strange reason it took me a hot minute to wrap my head around the idea of having to rub in deodorant when we're so used to rolling or spraying but it really is just one of those weird mind blocks because it's no different to applying a facial product and washing your hands. Strange the way the mind works. But I thought I'd mention it in case you have been balking at the idea too. If not, you have my full permission to think I'm a little bit odd and move on.

Now for the Deluxe Box Additions

Eco Max Hair BrushAgain with the brushes!? It's worth it I promise. This Eco Max hair brush is elegantly carved from timber with a natural rubber cushion and bamboo anti-static pins so you can detangle while keeping those pesky flyaways at bay.

Plastic free, biodegradable and vegan, it's the perfect hair brush for your zero waste life.

Go For Zero Konjac SpongeThis Round Face & Body Konjac Sponge is infused with Red Clay to help with dry, mature and sensitive skin. The round shape allows you to gently exfoliate your face or body, a perfect travel companion.

Konjac Sponges are the perfect waste-free alternative to plastic loofahs when washing your face and body. Konjac is a porous root vegetable that is native to Asia. It is crushed and moulded into a slightly textured sponge that is gentle enough to use daily on your skin to remove dead skin cells, naturally stimulate blood flow, and provide a ‘polished’ feeling. They are perfect for absorbing excess oils and removing hard to reach bacteria, and makeup.

Did we mention they are pH neutral?! Meaning they can help maintain the natural pH levels of your skin and protect it from bacteria and environmental elements.

Wondery skin food chamomile cleanserWondery Skin Food Chamomile Cleanser and Make-up Remover Balm

I was hesitant to include this one. Not that it isn't a great product because it absolutely is! It's just that skin care is such a personal thing isn't it. And the good stuff can be pricy. Which is why we've given you a sample sized pot to try. If you love it, shout it from the rooftops and go buy more!

Formulated with only the finest ingredients from nature, this vegan-friendly formula is handcrafted in small batches and packaged in a planet friendly tin.

Made with jojoba oil, shea butter and vitamin E. To use , run your finger over the balm, apply it to cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. Then massage in and rinse off with warm water.

And that, my lovelies is that. For February anyway. Happy lunar New Year.

Catch you next month.
